Selic Maintenance and Fixed Income Scenario

The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) announced, this Wednesday (17), the maintenance of the Selic rate at 15% per year for the second consecutive meeting. With the basic interest rate still high, Jeff Patzlaff, CFP financial planner and investment specialist, highlighted that the scenario for fixed income remains very favorable for investors.

Investment Advice and Safe Options

Patzlaff recommended prioritizing liquidity and carefully choosing exposures that depend on an immediate drop in interest rates. He stated: "For those who need security, Tesouro Selic continues to be the best practical option. CDBs from solid banks are also a good alternative, as are DI funds with low administration fees."

Yield Simulation for R$ 1k and R$ 10k

To illustrate the yields, Money Times asked Jeff for a simulation of the returns of R$ 1,000 and R$ 10,000 over one year in products such as Tesouro Selic, CDB, LCI Pós, LCI Pré, and Savings. The simulations considered a Selic of 15% and CDI of 14.90% per year, highlighting the different achievable net returns.
