Brazilian air transport is set to be strengthened in the coming months with the arrival of two new airlines dedicated to regional routes, according to the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho. Official announcements are expected by January 2026, bringing greater connectivity to inland cities and regions that still lack a wider range of flights.

Details of the New Airline Operators

One of the new entrants will be Total Linhas Aéreas, which currently operates in cargo transport and intends to debut in the passenger segment. The second company, still in the structuring phase, will have 100% national capital and will be exclusively dedicated to regional aviation. According to the minister, Brazilian entrepreneurs are working to make this investment.

Government Incentives and Investments for Aviation

To enable this growth, the government launched the National Civil Aviation Fund (FNAC), with R$ 4 billion available via BNDES, a historic credit line to boost the purchase of Embraer aircraft. The Ampliar Program foresees the modernization of 19 regional airports with nearly R$ 2 billion in private investments, and there are plans to alleviate demand at Congonhas with an additional R$ 2.5 billion in works and alternatives such as Catarina airport.
